Sign Up for Alert Text Messages

Students, Faculty, and Staff

Spartan Alert emergency notification text messaging is available to students, faculty, and staff who have signed up and provided cell phone contact information through their UNCGenie account. To subscribe to Spartan Alert text messages:

1. Visit the UNCGenie web site.
2. Once you are logged into UNCGenie, click “Personal Information”.
3. While on the All Users tab, click “Emergency Cell Phone Contact” and enter your cell phone number, check the box allowing the system to send you text messages, and submit the form.

Parents, Families, Vendors, Contractors, Community Members, and Other Stakeholders

To subscribe:

1. Text SpartanFam to 67283
2. You will receive a text message confirming your subscription

The alerts will be active for 365 days. All users who subscribe will receive a message with instructions to opt-in again if desired at the end of the 365-day period.

Visitors

All visitors to the UNCG campus can subscribe to receive real-time Spartan Alerts to stay informed about campus emergencies.

To subscribe:

2. You will receive a text message confirming your subscription

The alerts will be active for 7 days. All users who subscribe will receive a message with instructions to opt-in again if desired at the end of the 7-day period.
